The Damned Series by Dawn White

SYNOPSIS:

This edition contains both "Wingless and Damned" as well as "Wingless and Forsaken".

In Book One, "Wingless and Damned", Alexander is the Alpha wolf of the Neuri werewolf tribe, set to destroy anything associated with the dreaded strigoi. Lea is a magnificent Fae -- or so she believed but she soon discovers she may not be after all. With Alexander, Lea’s and basically the worlds fate is in the hands of the mated pair. They must act fast and not just on the revenge they so desperately need. Can their love save us all? As Lea and Alexander’s souls hang in the balance they come to realize we are all a little Damned.

In Book Two, "Wingless and Forsaken", Alexander and Gaius go in search for their much needed revenge. But come across much more than they had ever planned. Lea and Zari must transverse the very pits of despair in order to save their mates. Zari learns of a deep dark secret that has been kept from her and all other Fae since the beginning of time. When the Queen of Nalla Vareim gets involved no one will be the same ever again.

REVIEW:

This is one book you do NOT want to miss out on.

Both stories are so amazingly written that they literally pull you into the writing and you feel as if you are living the stories out with the characters.

Dawn White has such a way with words, that if you read this, and you do not love it, there is something wrong with you....lol

In the first book Lea finds out more about herself than she ever knew, including who she really is. At the same time she falls in love with Alexander, a strong Alpha male who soon becomes her mate. The fate of the world rests on these two, and they soon embark on an amazing feat of saving the world and loving each other.

In the second book Lea and her sister Zari find their loves missing and they have to battle hell in order to find and save them. More happens to these poor couples then should ever happen, but through it all they find love, trials and overcome more then most of us do in a lifetime.

By the end of the second book I was left wanting more.  You meet amazing people, and go on wonderful if scary adventures to save the world and the love of your life.

This series is far from done, and I know I am patiently waiting for more.  I need to know what happens next.  Will everything be ok? What horrors and trials lay ahead for these amazing characters. What more does Dawn White have in store for us.  I know I want to find out.

Solstice by Bryan W. Dull

SYNOPSIS:

In Gavin Moxley's world, there is no thin line between right and wrong. In a personal crusade to help sever a line of disease carried by a clan of vampires, Gavin has no choice but to be ruthless. The Vampires are purposely infecting the human population…waiting for humans to actively pass it on to each other. Gavin takes no chances and executes them one by one. Not strong or powerful, finding humans before they turn into full vampires is ideal and Gavin’s best bet.

Yes, this is Gavin’s life…

…And nothing ever changes it until a young half breed vampire with special abilities, Solstice, attaches and makes herself a fixture in his life when she asks for his help and protection and when a reluctant Gavin agrees he joins a dangerous game of cat and mouse. There is no safe place and the pair are constantly watching their backs. Torn between his hate and his love for Solstice, Gavin is thrown into a moral dilemma that only he can figure out but two things are clear…

His faith and Humanity are being tested and the past is not always forgotten.

REVIEW:

I have to say, I rarely get overly excited about a book but this one caught my attention big time.  The writing is amazing, very descriptive and catches your attention and holds you till the very end, of which came way too fast for me....lol

Gavin finds himself in a tough situation, he's a vampire hunter who finds himself taking care of a half vampire child who he quickly finds himself becoming attached to.

what happens between these two is both hilarious and emotional. Solstice had a rough start to life, and isn't finding things any easier, but then she comes across Gavin who makes things much more interesting and soon finds herself caught up in his life.

They find themselves needing to rely on each other to get what they want, and soon become a pair of friends who are there for each other. Gavin finds himself caring for Solstice and wanting to protect her while defending them both against vampire attacks.

I found that the book ended too soon, but left me on a very high cliff and clinging to my seat wondering what is going to happen. I need to know more. Was that really Dana in that house? What will happen between Solstice and Gavin? Will the bad vampires win or will they lose?

I need answers....I cannot wait till the next book and I highly recommend you get this one so we can all jump off our seats together when the next one comes out....lol

Wicked Fate by Tabatha Vargo

Synopsis:

What if you lived in fear of yourself?

For Mage McPherson being afraid of herself is just the norm. Thanks to that fear, being a loner in a small town never bothered the mysterious Mage. That all changes during her sophomore year at Summerville High when Adam, her equally mysterious secret crush, starts to notice her.

Afraid that she might harm Adam, Mage must learn to either control or deny herself. With Adam by her side she's more powerful than she?s ever been, but is she powerful enough to defeat her worst nightmare? She learns a hard lesson about love and magic when her destiny comes to collect.

Review:

If you are looking for a book about love, being different and making it through everything thrown at you then this is the book for you.
I picked up this book to read and could not put it down until it was finished, and even then I was upset that it was over so soon.

Mage McPherson is the type of person that everyone avoids, claiming she is weird, or dangerous. But this is ok with her because she likes to be alone.

Not fully understanding the things that happen to her she lives her life her own way. Until one day she meets a new girl, and then the guy she has a huge crush on makes his way into her life and burrows deep. Now she has to figure out how to live her life with others instead of just herself.

Being able to see spirits, and move things with her mind, not to mention the wild array of other things that come along on her 16th birthday, Mage finds her life turned upside down completely, and all she ha to keep her grounded is Adam.

What happens can only be described as a wonderful story of life and love and making the best of everything.  I am desperately waiting more ad I need to know how this story ends.

Tabatha catches your attention very fast with this book.  Her characters and words are so full of life and so easy to hold onto that you will never want the story to end.

The Hand of God by Tim Miller

SYNOPSIS:

Charlie Sims is not your typical preacher. God has called him to rid the world of sinners. One corpse at a time, he carries out his brutally selfless work until a more powerful preacher appears who will change his life forever. A battle ensues for the fate of mankind.

Charlie's devout beliefs are shaken as he finds himself hurtled into a battle for the end of the world where nothing is what it seems. A violent tale filled with death and chaos, the lines between good and evil are blurred and eventually demolished.

REVIEW:

This book had me from beginning to end.  I am not usually a religious person, but I found this story to be entertaining and interesting.

Charlie finds himself thinking he is the Hand of God, only to have things change on him and find his world turned upside down. Things he thought he knew are wrong and his life is changed forever.

He thought he was doing Gods work, only to find out he was doing someone else's all along. And now the fate of the world rests on his shoulders, and he has to decide which path to take.  Who is real who is not. What will he do.

Jump into this book and find out for yourself what happens.  You will be surprised at the ending, then again, I am sure you will be surprised at the whole thing.

Tim Miller has a very good way with words. His characters are easy to know, and his writing is easy to follow.  You will not find yourself getting confused, but you will find yourself getting pulled in and wanting to know more.

In My Dreams by Cameo Renae

It was happening again. The dreams. The nightmares. It was something seventeen year-old Elizabeth "Lizzy" Hayes thought she'd outgrown...dreams that would come true...detailed premonitions of how people would die. But this time, she dreams about her boyfriend, Michael Young, and soon discovers that he's been found... dead.

Michael hasn't crossed over because he was murdered, and now, his murderer is coming for Lizzy. His spirit won't rest until she's safe. As a newbie spirit, the easiest way for him to make contact is through Lizzy's dreams. When she dreams, it's as if he's still alive...still with her...and that gives her strength.

But Lizzy must learn to pull on her own inner strength to survive horrifying events. Meanwhile, in the spirit world, Michael learns everything he can about his supernatural gifts to help. But will it be enough to save her?

In My Dreams is a story of unconditional love. The kind of love that lives, even beyond the grave. It is a story that will grip you heart, break and re-mend it, and take it on a wild ride of emotion.
Warning: You might want to keep that box of tissue nearby... ;)

Review:

What can I say. This book literally touched my heart.

Who hasn't been through a touch time before in their lives, but to have it this tough, not to mention still being connected.

Elizabeth 'Lizzy' Hayes, loses the one person she holds most dear to her, and what happens next is nothing short of a miracle. But it does bring to new light things that can happen that you would NEVER expect.

Sometimes people come into your life when you least expect it, Like Lucy does with Lizzy. But what she gives her will be something Lizzy will never give back nor will she ever be the same again.

What happens after can only be called spiritual, as she is reconnected with the love of her life who she lost.

Lizzy learns how to adjust and how to bring things in her life back to where she wants them, but things will never be the same.

This book literally brought me to tears with how emotional and special it was. I just wish there was more, but it ended so amazingly and Lizzy will never be alone now that she has her special guardian looking after her.

Covert Dreams By Micheal Meyer

 Review:

I really found this book interesting.  It started off a bit slow and confusing, but soon had me hooked wanting to know more.

The characters are easy to read, and very easy to get to know.

It literally has you guessing how it is gonna end UNTIL the very end...lol  I was on the edge of my seat many times wondering how things were going to turn out and was always wrong...lol

The writer has a way of getting you into the book, really feeling what they do. Making you try to guess what is gonna happen next but you will almost always be wrong...lol

Title: Covert Dreams
Author: Michael Meyer
Genre: Thriller/Suspense/ Mystery
Publisher: Pacific Books
Release Date: June 1 2012
Format: Ebook

Synopsis:
Imagine waking up remembering intimate details about a country in which you have never traveled and fluently speaking a language that you have never spoken. B.J. is living the ideal life. He has a great wife, a wonderful job. And yet he is experiencing life-like vivid dreams of Munich, a city he has never visited.

Stan Halsey is a professor in Saudi Arabia, who sends for his wife to join him. She arrives, and, in the blink of an eye, she vanishes, leaving no trace of ever being alive in either the United States or in Saudi Arabia.

COVERT DREAMS is a fast-paced international suspense thriller that moves from Munich to the burning sands of Saudi Arabia. What is real, and who is responsible for the terrifying nightmare?

Excerpt 1:

The Munich all around her was bustling with activity. She could hear it from all directions. Munich was a wonderful city, a fun-loving place, the live and let live ebullience of the city emanating from its every nook and cranny. She had had a lovely stay here. All of it had been so adventurous, so new, so unlike life back home in Arizona. She could vividly recall the first time she had ventured into a Munich beer garden, where the liter mugs had been so huge that she had had to lift hers with both hands, and the giggles, from him, until he too had had to use both hands.

The fumbling noises he had been making came to an abrupt halt. He began stroking her cheek again. Gus looked so happy, so young, so full of life. It was so hard to imagine that he could be so heavily involved in all this horror.

Gus smiled at her once more. His eyes were soft, so gentle, so caring, so loving.

Maybe this was some kind of huge mistake. Maybe he wasn't going to kill her after all. Maybe everything would turn out happily ever after. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.

But then suddenly she saw it clearly. It was no fairy tale. There would be no maybe. This was real, as real as the mixture of sadness and fear that now flooded her brain.

And then she died, with her eyes wide open, challenging, piercing his to the end.

Excerpt 2:

Man and woman, husband and wife, person to person—they looked into each other’s eyes, too scared to verbalize their thoughts. Onwards they plunged, right into the dark unknown, oblivious to the fact that their lives at that very moment were intertwined with other lives half a world away, in both Munich, Germany, and in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Time, gradually becoming their enemy, did a flip-flop, and the now became the then, dying, giving birth to what lay ahead, way beyond the present, biding its own good time, in total control, much like a German panzer unit moving across The Netherlands. Just like the power of Allah under the hot Saudi Arabian sun.

  Author Bio

I have resided in and have visited many places in the world, all of which have contributed in some way to my own published writing. I have literally traveled throughout the world, on numerous occasions. I have lived in Finland, Germany, Thailand, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Saudi Arabia, where COVERT DREAMS is set. I gained the wanderlust to see the world, to experience other cultures, at an early age, and this desire has never left me. If anything, it has only gained in intensity as I have aged. I try to travel internationally at least once a year. In the interim, I spend lots of time traveling around both my home state of California and other nearby states.

I spent my early years in the small town of Lone Pine, California, the home of almost every western movie, in addition to a wide variety of other genres, made in the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. In fact, Hollywood still films parts of big-time movies there today. My dad, the town’s lifeguard at the time, personally knew John Wayne, Lloyd Bridges, and Lee Marvin, all of whom came to the town’s pool, the Memorial Plunge, at times to cool off after a hectic day of working in the sun. I was even an extra in a movie filmed there in 1957, MONOLITH MONSTERS, a B-cult favorite even today. I was ten years old at the time. Even though I resided in a small town hours from the big city, I was exposed to the excitement of action and heroes at a formative age, and, thus, my interest in writing novels of suspense such as COVERT DREAMS was born.

As a recent retiree from a forty-year career as a professor of writing, I now live in Southern California wine country with my wife, Kitty, and our two other cats.
